Dye Penetrant Testing

Dye penetrant testing procedures include, and comply with current BSEN ISO and ASME codes. Our operators are approved to carry out operations both on site and in our laboratory under the UKAS accreditation scheme.

Hardness Testing

We are able to carry out Hardness Testing on and offsite, using Vickers and Rockwell evaluation process.

Holiday Detection

Holiday Detection is the ability to determine any imperfections and breaks in continuity of protective coating, i.e. epoxy, painted and rubber applications in the gas and petrochemical industry.

We carry out testing to new work and can be involved in addition with preventative maintenance, part of our operations deal with pipeline construction, and the inspection of coatings.

Magnetic Particle Inspection

We carry out MPI on site and also in our laboratory, procedures exist for aerospace, general engineering, structural, and petro-chemical specifications, to BSEN ISO, ASME/ASTM and BGAS specifications.

Material Chemical Verification PMI

As a part of our clients quality control system, we are able to confirm with a very fast analysis that materials are “as required”, this can be carried out on site as well as in our controlled laboratory. We can confirm element numbers and even identify trade names, in alloys and non-ferrous material.

Material Physical Condition

We verify material analysis by both
Chemical and physical means.

Metlab Activities

Also “in house” we are able to carry out Radiography, MPI, Dye Penetrant Testing, Chemical Analysis, and Ultrasonic Testing. We can examine welds, castings, and composites, and forgings.

Phased Array Testing

Phased Array – Advanced Ultrasonic Testing
Recent advances in data analysis have meant that we can now operate ultrasonic probes with multiple crystals all operating simultaneously. This is demonstrated here. Our site testing equipment either manual or automatic has meant that we are able in a lot of cases to replace X radiography with phased array examination, giving advantages in safety and speed.

Ultrasonic Testing

We operate both on and off site with manual ultrasonic examination and offer the following services to the Petrochemical, Engineering and Construction Industry offering PCN approved level II and level III operators.

Welding Inspection/Monitoring

Our weld monitoring equipment monitors up to 5 channels during operations, Amperage, Voltage, Wire feed speed, travel speed and Gas flow. These are recorded to ensure exact measurements are available for field welding.

X and Gamma Radiography

We are able to offer this service offsite as well as onsite; our equipment inventory includes X Ray Crawler units, operating from 6” to 60” Diameter and Kv Ranges from 120Kv to 300Kv, panoramic units, and directional CP x-ray heads.

Gamma Radiography utilising Iridium 192 and selenium 75 isotopes.

Our two X-ray bays in Sittingbourne Laboratory are manned seven days a week and operate under UKAS accreditation.

Digital Radiography

We also have market leading computed radiography equipment at our disposal to use in conjunction with our X-radiography kit, to suit all your necessary requirements. This is quicker and more environmentally friendly than the ‘wet film technique associated with conventional radiography. Depending on which type of inspection you opt for we will ensure full compliance with the latest recognised specifications across a large variety of industry and sectors.
